## Synopsis
Stefan Nitzsche and Andreas Brüggemann followed Marc Thiele, founder of the festival beyond tellerrand, over four years of filming, 2019 to 2023. Marc gave them a rare insight into the planning, organisation, and realisation of a festival he has run for more than a decade — and into the energy he draws between festivals from his family, his running, and the people around him.

The multi-day beyond tellerrand takes place annually in Düsseldorf and Berlin. Visitors describe it as unique: a family atmosphere, a wide range of speakers, supportive partners, and a founder who cares about every detail.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. The film shows the lockdown and the ban on events, the financial fears that follow, and the ups and downs Marc goes through. Will beyond tellerrand survive? And is a festival still the same after a worldwide pandemic?
